Kim and Ashley had just came back from getting their costumes and Lisa was putting the finishing touches on her costume
when her cell phone rings
"Hello oh hi Jim yeah ok sure that would be great yeah I’ll tell the girls ok see you
tonight Jim bye" Lisa hung up her phone.
"Well what was that about?" Kim and Ashley asked at the same time. Lisa looked
at her sisters and said "girls we are going to meet the band we are opening up for tonight at the ball" Kim smiled I bet its
the backstreet boys" she said with a smile looking at the picture of AJ on the wall " I bet five dollars it 98 degrees" Ashley
said. Lisa laughed and said " ok ill take that bet but to tell you the truth I don’t care who the group is as long as
they look at us as talented singers and not some sex object" all three girls laughed.
“Kim look at all these great
Halloween decorations “ Ashley said as she, Kim, and Lisa came in the door.
It was the girls first time in la and
they had just got a record deal. Jim their manger had told them they were going to meet the group that they were going to
open up for at the masked ball.
“ Hey girls “Jim yelled over the music. The girls walked over to him.
Jim
smiled at Lisa but she just ignored him. Some one else had gotten her attion.
Kim waved her hand in front of her sisters
face and
“Earth to Lisa “Kim said smiling as three guys walked up to them. Ashley mouth dropped open because
she had lost her bet with Lisa and Kim.
Jim smiled and reached over shutting Ashley’s mouth.
“Ladies”
one of the guys said.
He was handsome with black hair that was slicked back and brown piercing eyes. He smiled at Lisa.
Then took her hand and kissed it “ nice to meet you my name is Howie and this is Nick and AJ”. He said pointing
first to a tall blonde haired blue-eyed young man. Then to another nice looking gentleman.
Kim took Howie’s hand
and shook it “ hi my name is Kim and this is Lisa and Ashley”
Nick smiled at Ashley “so your girls with
shattered dreams” Nick said.
AJ smiled at Kim then asked, “ Would you like to dance”
As he reached
out his hand Kim looked at Lisa “sure but only if Lisa dances with her dream guy Howie” Lisa blushed and then
said “Kim you go ahead I’ll dance later “.
Nick looked at Ashley and said, “Would you like to
dance”
Ashley looked at Nick and said “ are you kidding I love to dance”
So Nick and Ashley followed
Kim and AJ out to the dance floor.
Lisa sat down at the table Jim looked at her and then said “Lisa what do you think
the first single should be”
Lisa looked at him and said “Jim we have been through this before it should be
shattered dreams” since my sisters and I wrote it.
Just then a slow song started to play Jim got up and reached for
Lisa’s hand and said, “May I have this dance”. Lisa reluctantly accepted Jim’s offer and took his
hand.
Ashley and Nick both caught it in Lisa’s eyes that she didn’t want to dance with him.
So Nick went
over to where Howie, Brian, and Kevin were standing talking.
“Hey d can I talk to you for a second” Nick asked
Howie
looked at him and said “sure Nick what’s up “
Nick grabbed Howie’s hand and then pointed at Lisa
and Jim dancing then said
“Go cut in Howie” Howie followed Nick’s finger and then looked at him with
a shocked expression on his face.
“Nick you want me to cut in on Lisa and Jim but why”?
Nick sighed
and said “ because d man she doesn’t want to dance with him she wants to dance with you”
Howie looked
at Nick again then said, “ ok ill go cut in”
He walked across the floor to where Lisa and Jim were dancing
Jim had tightened his grip on to LISA waist and then pulled her closer to him Howie walked up and then he tapped Jim on the
shoulder “May I cut in” he asked. Jim reluctantly said “yes” then moved Howie took Lisa hand as a
slow song came on she blushed as howie pulled her closer to him
And smiled “ so I am your dream guy? Who are
you suppose to be in that wonderful costume” he asked as they danced.
Lisa blushed and nodded she felt Howie
tighten his grip around her waist pulling her closer to him he felt Lisa tense up a little Howie smiled and said” Lisa
is Jim a good dancer "Lisa looked down and said "I guess so Howie he is our manger "Lisa said looking down

i am supose to be a princess lisa said smileing
Howie smiled flirtingly and said, “ Well you sure do look the part”
Lisa
blushed again and said “ thank you”
Jim watched from the table growing more and more jealous he watched
Howie flirt with Lisa.
Howie was making her laugh and smile.
Which Jim couldn’t do?
Just then Kim and AJ
came back to the table.
“ Jim are you alright, Lisa and Howie sure look good out there don’t
You think so Jim” Kim asked
Jim got up from the table and stormed out the door
AJ looked at Kim and said “ what is his problem you would
think he has a crush on her or something” then he order two glasses none alcoholic wine for him and Kim.
AJ was dressed
as the phantom of the opera Kim was dressed as a fairy.
Ashley was dressed as Glenda the good witch of the north off of
the wizard of oz
“Where is Lisa and Jim, ” she asked walking up with a glass of coke and looking around.
Kim
smiled and pointed then said “ Lisa and Howie are dancing and Jim left he looked upset but that’s his problem”
Just then Nick, Brian, and Kevin walked up
Brian was with his wife Leighanne they were dressed as Cinderella
and prince charming.
Kevin and Kristen were dressed as Luke sky walker and princess Leah
And Nick was dressed as a mummy.
“
That was a relief I thought I was going to have to drag him over there” Nick said with a smile.
Every one laughed.
“Well
Lisa is shy when it comes to a guy she likes “ Ashley said.
The music stops and Howie steps away from Lisa.
And smiles then bows
“Thanks for the dance Lisa” Howie said.
Taking her hand and kissing it
Then he
leads her back to the table.
Lisa waited while Howie pulled out her chair for her to sit down.
“ Thank you Howard”
Lisa said smiling
A voice came over the loud speaker
“12 minuets till midnight and that is when we will announce
the winners for the best costume
you were given a piece of paper and a pen when you came through the door tonight that
is what it was for so lets start voting “
The music started again.
Howie asked the waiter to bring
some drinks for the table.
Then he sat down next to Lisa.
AJ and Kim looked at each other and smiled.
The waiter
returned with the drinks
“ I’ll be back with a box to collect your papers when you have finished voting”
Then
he went left.
Lisa nodded and wrote down
AJ and Kim as her vote
Everyone else at the table and a lot of the other
guest voted for Howie and Lisa
When the waiter returned with the box they all put their papers in and the waiter
left again.
Brian looked at Leighanne he was so lucky she looked great tonight. He was smiling to himself when he heard
Leighanne say something
“ I’m sorry sweet heart what did you say “ Brian asked
“ I said do
you want to dance Brian” Leighanne said with a sigh.
Brian smiled and took Leighannes hand leading her to the dance
floor
After about 20 minutes or so the announcer came back interrupting the music again
“ I wish he would stop
that I was out dancing AJ. “ Lisa said laughing
“Laugh all you want because I am going to dance you under the
table missy” AJ said with a smile.
“Bring it on then “ Lisa said. Heading back to the dance floor when
the music started again.
After about 10 minutes the voice came back and started the count down till 12
Then
it announced the winners
“ Second place goes to Prince charming and Cinderella who are better known as Brian Littrel
and his wife Leighanne” then the announcer took the other envelope and opened it and said
“ Now for the first
place winners and they are count Dracula and a princess “
Lisa looked at Howie and smiled as he got up to
take her hand to lead her up to the stage.
The announcer placed a crown on both of their heads and asked them to end the
night by leading everyone in a dance.
Lisa could feel everyone’s eyes watching her as Howie lead her out to the dance
floor when they started to play stick with you by the pussycat dolls.
When the music stopped everyone started
to leave.
“Well I am going to the bus catch you guys later and thanks for the dance Ashley” Nick said
Ashley
smiled and said, “ Sure any time nick I had a great time”
Then Nick walked to the bus.
AJ looked at Kim
and asked her if she wanted to go to the bus with him and Nick to watch a movie.
Kim looked at Lisa.
Lisa smiled and
said “ok but be back on our bus by 4:30 or I am coming to get you and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do and
if you do don’t name it after me “
Kim smiled and yelled back “same goes for you Lisa” then she
took AJ’s arm and walked to the bus.
Ashley looked at Lisa “well I am going to go to bed ok Lisa will
you be ok out here “? Ashley asked.
Lisa smiled and said “ yeah ill be fine good night I think I am going to
stay out here for a little while”
Ashley smiled as she seen Howie walking towards the bus
Jim
watched as they walked down to the beach
“ this isn’t fair Lisa should be with me not him not some backstreet
boy I have to put a stop to them being together.” Jim thought to himself
Back on the bus the
guys were trying to figure out what movie they wanted to see
“ so what movie do you want to watch” AJ asked
Kim
“I don’t know just pick one please” Kim said.
“Hey what about that alien movie I brought
not to long ago we can watch that “
Nick said.
AJ shrugged “I guess so Kim would you
like to watch Nick’s movie”
AJ asked Kim.
Kim smiled “ yeah sure why not it sounds good”
Kim
said.
the girls got ready to do the show after the show lisa walked back on the bus she had on a button down shirt
"Hey
Lisa what’s up why the long face didn’t you get a kiss from your dream guy "Ashley asked teasing Lisa.
Lisa
looked down "Ashley please don’t ok not right now I need to go out for some air "Lisa said walking out Ashley
sighed
Jim watched Lisa as she walked out now’s my chance her said then he seen howie walking up to Lisa howie
looked at
her Lisa "what is wrong Lisa why did you tense up when I tightened my grip to pull you closer because it
was a slow
dance last night is something wrong that your not telling me you know you can tell me if there is I want us to be
friends
"Lisa looked and said "thanks howie i really mean it but you see Jim tightened his grip and well he oh
never mind howie
its not that important ok lets just drop it "Lisa said
looking at the tide coming in. Jim watched
and he
felt jealous " Lisa mine he said to himself and i am going to make sure she only goes out with me and that’s
that
even if i have to threaten to ruin howies career and his reputation ill have Lisa "he said out loud not think
ing
that someone might hear him. He walked up "excuse me howie I need to speak to Lisa alone please " Jim said Lisa
looked
up fear in her eyes about what he was going to do howie nodded "ok ill see you later Lisa "he said
then he went to kiss
her cheek and he noticed that she was as white as a ghost he shook his head and took his
jacket off "here this will keep
you warm you can return it to me when you come back through to get on your bus"
howie said wrapping it around Lisa and
walked off Jim smiled as Lisa backed up she was cornered "well at last
I got you all to myself Lisa
and now i can finish what I started back in the ball room "Lisa went to scream but
Jim covered her mouth "no
you don’t unless you want your dream guy to lose everything he has worked hard for and I
know you don’t
want that do you "Jim asked Lisa shook her head tears running down her cheek Jim went to un button
her shirt when
someone hit him from behind Lisa screamed and then collapsed hitting her head on a rock .she heard
a voice
saying "someone help call 911 she opened up her eyes and seen howie holding her head "hi sleepy head
"howie said Lisa
smiled a weak smile then slowly closed her eyes and her whole body went limp "Lisa Lisa"
howie said come on wake
up please don’t you dare die on us we just started to become friends" howie said
wiping the blood from her
forehead. Jim laid on the sand out cold.
The ambulance got there and then took Lisa to the emergency room howie sat there
holding her hand
"Lisa I am so sorry I shouldn’t have left you with him alone I knew something was wrong please
Lisa come on wake up
"howie said. Lisa opened her eyes and smiled patting howies hand "Lisa your awake! "howie said Lisa
looked at him
and nodded then held his hand "howie look its not your fault ok I don’t want you blaming your
self for anything
that has happened to me besides how could you have known about what Jim was going to do I am just
glad you came
back when you did howie I don’t know how I will ever be able to thank you enough for helping me "Lisa
said closing
her eyes realizing that she was falling in love with howie but how was she going to tell him that she
didn’t want
to scare him off. howie looked at Lisa and said” you don’t have to thank me I did it because
I wanted too because
you are a very nice girl and I don’t want to see anyone hurting you
